Cruelty Free Hair care! Suzzette rules (seriously, super good work and it’s her salon), is vegan, and does a lot of pitbull rescue stuff as well. Make sure and ask for SUZZETTE or GUS to cut your hair, they are the vegans there and deserves your money more. Yeah, we said it. So what?

Almost vegan (stupid honey) African-Caribbean cart by PSU. Menu looks amazing. Open weekdays 9am-6pm, and on Saturday, 1-5pm.  ***Rumored to be switching from honey to agave making it all vegan. Somebody tell us when it’s for real.****

Bay Leaf

Pretty damned good. Mostly vegan, just make sure and tell your waitstaff to hold the eggs. And they have a couple of desserts from SweetPea, like vegan cheesecake and cake.

Blue Moose Cafe

“Wholesome vegetarian food.” From the looks of their menu, they are fond of the cheese.

Bombay Chaat House

Another all vegetarian Indian cart across from a shitty fur shop. Sometimes they give free soy chai to protesters. Rad.

Chaos Cafe

Good spot. Open later than most. Healthy style. A fair amount of vegan options.

DC Vegetarian

Food cart with lots of vegan options for soups and sandwiches. “Steak & Cheese” sandwich, Italian sub, and Mediterranean Chickpea Soup.

Dreamers Café

Vegetarian food cart. Haven’t been there. But it seems like it’d be good.

Food for Thought

Milky Way Tea & Pastry

Super nice folks. Funny place. All vegetarian bagel and bubble tea / coffee shop. The highlights are the bagel sandwiches, made with all kinds of fake meats. MIght want to double check to make sure all the meats are vegan, and watch the extra toppings. It’s just across HWY 205 from Clackamas Town Center, so if you’re ever out there, go say hi. They could use the support.

People’s Co-Op

Proper Eats

Great spot. Open later than most too. Healthy style home-cooking kinda stuff. Really nice folks run it, and they have a small market in the front. Sometimes live music, sometimes movies. Check their site for more info.

Vege Thai

We almost live here. Mostly vegan, just make sure and tell them to leave out the egg here and there. Pete and Nikki, the owners, are some of the nicest folks around. Chicken nuggets. Thai iced tea with soy milk. Curry with pepper steak. I’m starving. ***Make sure and ask which of the fake meats are vegan, sometimes it changes.***

All vegetarian chinese food. Lots of fake meats. Make sure to stress that you are vegan to avoid the dreaded whey-chicken. Has an all-you-can-eat lunch buffet during the week.

The Whole Bowl

All vegetarian cart. They only serve one thing, but it’s good. Bowl or rice and beans with special sauce. Tell ‘em to make it vegan.

Bete-Lukas

Best Ethiopian food in town, we think. The veggies are actually organic which is a huge plus. The food is a bit lighter and less greasy than other spots. Super funny owner to top it all off.

Black Sheep Bakery

Chen’s Dynasty

Fat Straw

Giant selection of vegan (coconut based) bubble teas. Also has vegetarian (contains whey) turkey and ham for their bagels, and tofutti cream cheese.

The Farm Café

Limited vegan options, but they are super good. Kinda fancy. Good place to bring parents. Fresh local NW foods. And, conveniently located if you are cruising for prostitutes or crack.

Portland’s best breakfast, or so we think right now. Been eating there a ton. But, go on the weekdays, they have more stuff. Go figure. Best vegan pancakes, man (again, only on weekdays). With walnuts and bananas and stuff. And the vegan breakfast burrito with their homemade sausage and salsa, can’t be beat. Not even with the stick that is stuck up your uptight vegan butt. Make sure and bug them about vegan biscuits and gravy. They don’t have it, but maybe if we’re all REALLY annoying about it…..

Oh hell yes. Some of the best Ethiopian food we’ve had anywhere. Veggie sampler platter is the way to go.

Taqueria Los Gorditos

Super great. 3/4 of the family that runs this taco stand is vegetarian. Vegan burritoes with soyrizo. Tofu enchiladas. Onion tacos. We love these folks so f’ing much. They keep adding more and more vegan stuff. Damn. Give ‘em a hug for us.

Good bar food. 5pm – 2am. Vegan ham and cheese sammys. Vegan White Russians. Good music too. Sometimes the other customers will even make you want to put a bullet in your own head!

Vita Café

Another great “almost vegetarian” place from the people who own Paradox. Vegan chicken fried steak, biscuits and gravy, and a few more sophisticated meals too. Really good, but they keep adding more meat stuff to the menu and pissing us off, so…

Voodoo Doughnut

A little nook-of-a-donut shop. It’s become a tourist attraction for those going downtown. They usually have a big plate of vegan donuts to choose from. One even with Chick-o-Stix on the frosting. And you can even have your wedding there.

Whiffies

Another awesome food cart. Fried pies. Fruity dessert ones and usually at least one vegan savoury pie. ***Make sure you request they fry your stuff in the all vegan fryer.****

Wild Abandon
